Ultimate Descents Nepal is the sole rafting company in Nepal whose guides are all Wilderness First Aid, AR, CPR and SRT - 1 certified. The Swiftwater Rescue Technician (SRT) license is a certification of basic rescues technique that is compulsory within the whitewater professions worldwide.

For the first time, Nepal has its own SRT instructor Mr. Chandra Ale, who is also the Operation Director at Ultimate Descents Nepal. Mr. Ale received his SRT Instructor Certification from Rescue 3 International, in August 2001 in the U.S. He has been providing 3-day intensive certification seminars this past Spring 2002 to all of the UD river staff, other rafting companies and Nepalese freelance guides. Ultimate Descents Nepal will be arranging additional training seminars with Mr. Ale this coming Fall 2002 and Spring 2003. Instruction can be in Nepali or English, depending on student requirements.
